If you’re looking to volunteer locally, we suggest starting with mutual aid efforts near you. Compilations of mutual aid groups here, here, and here.
-
If you’re already coordinating some mutual aid efforts or are looking to start your own locally, join the national coordination slack by filling out this form (intended for those organizing the organizers). Check out the tools-and-tech channel where folks are coordinating tech tools for mutual aid.

-
We are also proactively recruiting tech volunteers to serve on a SWAT teams to support local, state, and federal government as tech-related needs emerge. Those needs will likely vary widely, and aren’t specifically defined yet. Consider this building out some capacity infrastructure for if things get really, really chaotic. Sign up here. Please note that response time may be delayed (or not at all) depending on needs lifted up from city, state, and federal gov .
-
Here’s another volunteer clearing house where you can sign up for specific projects, or add your own.
-
Before creating a new tool, check out @Jess’s guidance on creating tech resources for disaster response.
-
If you’d like to join the volunteer core team who are organizing Brigade Network COVID-19 efforts, we could use more folks! Get in touch with @em_maine (NAC) or Meredith (mhorowski@codeforamerica.org).
Reply to this thread with additional centralized or broadly applicable resources you think should be included, and I’ll add them to this post.
