Description:

Have you ever wondered why a lot of government websites often struggle to meet people’s needs? Maybe you’ve heard someone who works inside the government express frustration at the systems they have to work with. Or perhaps a city council member or department head has reached out to your brigade asking how to improve government digital technology.
In this lightning talk, we’ll go over some of the common problems with government tech projects and suggest solutions that you can offer or advocate for. Looking beyond these specific problems, we’ll also discuss Code for America’s vision for how government can and should serve the public in the digital age, which we call Human-Centered Government.
